High Summer

Colours in the garden are changing now that summer is at it's peak. I love to include dramatic plants with intense colours in shades of orange and red which sing out when the sun is high in the sky.
I grow a range of perennials and annuals specifically for this time of year. Eye wateringly bright colours are called for in July and August I think. Not tasteful some would say but I think they are lovely none the less.
Today has been warm with sunshine all day here in NW England and the first glorious annual Rudbeckias are blooming. Woo Hoo!
